Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Clarishot browser extension and the Clarishot website. Clarishot ("Clarishot," "we," "our," or "us") provides a browser extension that helps you create polished screenshots and PDFs of AI conversations. You can contact us at support@clarishot.ai.
By installing, accessing, or using Clarishot, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Clarishot. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required where you live) and able to form a binding agreement to use Clarishot.
What Clarishot does
Clarishot helps you create polished screenshots and PDFs of AI conversations on supported AI chat platforms. It adds capture controls to supported pages and generates captures locally in your browser.
Clarishot is designed to be a narrow capture tool. It is not a general-purpose screenshot utility, cloud storage service, AI platform, backup tool, or publishing platform.
Free service
Clarishot is offered for free at launch. Clarishot may add paid features, subscriptions, usage limits, or other commercial terms in the future. If that happens, the applicable terms will be disclosed before you are charged.
Clarishot does not currently charge users through the extension or website. If paid features are added later, payment processing, cancellation, renewal, and refund terms will be disclosed before purchase.
Privacy
Your use of Clarishot is also governed by the Clarishot Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what Clarishot can access, what it does not receive or store, and how captures are created locally in your browser.
Your content and captures
You keep whatever rights you already have in the conversations, screenshots, PDFs, files, or other content you create or capture using Clarishot.
Clarishot does not claim ownership of your captures. Clarishot also does not upload, host, publish, or review your captures. You are responsible for what you choose to capture, save, paste, post, or share.
You agree that you will not use Clarishot to capture, copy, publish, or share content in a way that violates the law, infringes someone else's rights, breaches confidentiality obligations, or violates the terms of a third-party service.
Clarishot intellectual property
Clarishot, including its extension, website, branding, design, code, features, documentation, and other original materials, is owned by Clarishot's operator or licensors and is protected by intellectual property and other laws.
These Terms do not give you ownership of Clarishot or permission to use Clarishot's name, logos, branding, or trade dress in a way that suggests endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation without written permission.
Third-party services
Clarishot works on third-party websites and services, including AI chat platforms. Those services are operated by their own providers and are governed by their own terms, policies, account rules, and technical limitations.
Clarishot is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any other supported AI platform unless expressly stated.
Clarishot cannot guarantee that a third-party platform will always remain compatible with the extension. AI platforms may change their websites, markup, permissions, rate limits, security models, or account requirements at any time.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Using Clarishot lawfully.
- Making sure you have the right to capture and share any content you use Clarishot with.
- Reviewing captures before sharing them.
- Protecting sensitive, confidential, regulated, or personal information that may appear in your captures.
- Complying with the terms and policies of the AI platforms and other services you use.
License to use Clarishot
Subject to these Terms, Clarishot grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Clarishot extension and website for lawful purposes.
You may use Clarishot for personal, professional, educational, and commercial work, as long as your use complies with these Terms and applicable law.
Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Use Clarishot for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, abusive, or infringing activity.
- Use Clarishot to capture or distribute content you do not have the right to use.
- Attempt to bypass technical limitations, security controls, or user-triggered capture requirements.
- Interfere with Clarishot, the Chrome Web Store, supported AI platforms, or other users.
- Reverse engineer or scrape Clarishot's own code or behavior to build or operate a competing product.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where allowed by law.
Feedback
If you send ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback, you grant Clarishot permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation. Feedback is not confidential, and Clarishot has no obligation to use it or to credit you for it. You are not required to provide feedback.
Updates and changes
Clarishot may update the extension, website, features, supported platforms, design, documentation, and these Terms from time to time. Clarishot may also suspend or discontinue any part of the service.
If changes to these Terms are material, Clarishot will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice where appropriate. Changes take effect when the updated Terms are posted, unless the notice states a later date. Continuing to use Clarishot after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, stop using Clarishot.
No warranty
Clarishot is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clarishot and its operator disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and reliability.
Clarishot does not guarantee that:
- Captures will always be perfect, complete, or compatible with every page state.
- The extension will always work with every supported AI platform.
- The extension will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- Third-party platforms will continue to permit or support Clarishot's functionality.
You should review any capture before relying on it or sharing it.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clarishot and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, content, or business opportunities, arising from or related to your use of Clarishot.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clarishot's total liability for any claim arising from or related to Clarishot will not exceed the greater of USD $50 or the amount you paid to or for Clarishot for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Because Clarishot is free at launch, that amount is USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Clarishot and its operator from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and reasonable expenses to the extent they arise from your captures, your shared content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your violation of another person's rights.
Nothing in this section limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, and this section does not apply to the extent a loss is caused by Clarishot's own conduct.
Termination
You may stop using Clarishot at any time. Clarishot may suspend or terminate your access to the extension, website, or future services if you violate these Terms or if continued access would create legal, security, operational, or policy risk.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including Your content and captures, Clarishot intellectual property, Feedback, No warranty, Limitation of liability, Indemnity, Resolving disputes, Governing law, and General — survive.
Resolving disputes
Before filing any claim, you agree to contact support@clarishot.ai first and try in good faith to resolve the issue.
To the extent permitted by law, any claim arising from or related to Clarishot must be brought within one year after it arises; otherwise it is permanently barred. This does not shorten any period that mandatory law makes non-waivable.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of laws principles, unless applicable law requires otherwise. The state and federal courts located in California will have jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home jurisdiction.
General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect and the unenforceable part will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary.
If Clarishot does not enforce a provision of these Terms, that is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Clarishot about your use of Clarishot and replace any prior understandings about that subject.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms. Clarishot may assign these Terms, for example as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of assets.
